Our little girl is growing up so fast. She now enjoys being able to be a part of the meal. She thinks that she is such a big girl sitting up in a real chair. As you can see, grocery shopping has gotten a lot easier and she also enjoys it more. Those newborn days are long gone.

As you can see, Macey is very excited that it is christmas time. She is all smiles most of the time. This is a very common reaction that we get out of her. She loves attention

Fall is finally here!

I am home alone tonight and Macey has gone to bed so i thought that i would try and update all that is going on. What a busy life we lead. We are having so much fun watching macey grow and change. Right now her big thing is screaming just for fun. And man is it loud. She thinks it is fun and will do it over and over again. Oh well, at least she is happy. She has also started sucking her left thumb at times. We have found her a couple of times sound asleep with her thumb in her mouth. I think it is cute but jonathan is not so sure that he likes it.
We have enjoyed the cooler weather that we are having. The fall colors are beautiful and macey enjoys our morning walks. I bundle her up as best i can and we head out to walk on the greenway. It is surrounded by beautiful trees and it is just beautiful to see everyday. Macey gets her morning nap in on our walks so it is nice for me because i get some excercise and my child gets her nap. It is like killing two birds with one stone.
We are looking forward to this weekend. Our friends, Mike and Liesl Acquistapace are going to be here for the weekend. We are so excited to see them and spend some time with them. It is the first time they have seen Macey, which i am sure she will ham it up with them.
We are doing well. I am still enjoying my 1 day a week of work and Jonathan is doing so well with Macey. She loves her daddy time.
Here are a couple more recent pictures. Hope you enjoy.

Growing oh-so-fast!!

I know that it has been way too long since I have posted a blog. I find it increasingly difficult to find the time. Macey seems to be getting busier and busier as the days go by. She doesn't take as many naps and wants attention during every waking moment. In fact, right now i have her playing on the floor right next to me hoping that she will last until i get done writing this blog. I know that it is no excuse but I have honestly tried.
Macey is growing so much. I have posted some current pictures of her and you will see all of the fun stuff we have been doing these last couple of months. Macey just had her 4 month check up and she currently weighs 14 lbs and is 24 3/4 inches long. Her weight falls in the 60th percentile while her height is in the 75th percentile. Her head is still greater then the 100th percentile. So she is a long, relatively skinny baby with a big head :) Seriously though, her doctor said she is healthy and right on track.
We have enjoyed the fall season in tennessee. The leaves are finally starting to change colors. We took Macey to a pumpkin patch and she loved it. We had fun propping her up on and in between pumpkins to get a good picture. We are excited about the up coming holidays and starting some of our own holiday traditions.
She is changing so much everyday. She easily rolls over and loves to stand every single second that you will allow her to. She is pretty happy most of the time and will usually give you a huge smile. She especially loves to smile for her daddy.
We are having so much fun and wish that our family were closer so they could watch her make all of these changes. We are hoping that these pictures will help you see a little glimpse of the person that she is starting to become.

1/4 of a year old!!!

Macey turned 3 months old yesterday. Wow - how the time has flown by. We are enjoying her grow and change with each passing day. She is now cooing and smiling all the time. She has started giggling at things that she thinks are funny and she has just started to squeal which she enjoys immensely because she likes to hear herself make noise. She has had a lot of things happen in the last month. At the beginning of september she went to her first of many baseball games. We went up to Dayton, OH to visit jon's brother and his wife. The SF Giants just happened to be playing in Cincinnati so we ended up going to the saturday night and sunday games. Macey did well at the first game but it was so hot on sunday that she was not a happy camper. Luckily, there were some extra seats in the shady area so we just sat there. Macey tolerated that much better.
Then, a week later, Macey went on her first vacation. Every year we go to Florida with some friends of ours. This year we had Macey and they had a 9 month old. So it was quite and experience. Both babies did very well and we enjoyed the beach and spending time relaxing. We now realize that vacation will never be quite the same but it was still fun to get away.
And just yesterday, Macey went for her first hike - vovo will be so proud. We went to Fall Creek Falls and hiked to the bottom and then back up to the top. It was a beautiful day and it was so nice to get out and enjoy some nature. Macey slept during the entire hike but that is okay, we know she enjoyed it anyways.
Right, now she is watching football with her daddy. He is enjoying her so much and she just loves him to pieces. Every time she sees him she breaks into a big smile and starts cooing. He is definitely her favorite man in the world.

So hard to get shots

well today was a hard day. macey got her 2 month shots. she ended up only having to get 3 since those are the ones her dr. felt were the most important. she did fairly well with them. i made jonathan hold her while i sat in the corner. i am proud to say that i did not cry although i am sure i would have if i had been the one holding her down. she did well with them and didn't cry for very long after her shots. once she got back in the car she fell asleep and took a nice nap.
she is growing well. she is 22 and 3/4 inches long and 11 lbs. 13 oz. she is still in the 75% for length and weight. her head is measuring over 16 inches which needless to say is still over the 100% mark. so hopefully she will grow into her head a little. her doctor was very happy with her growth and development. she is right on track and doing well.
macey and i got to stop by my work today while jonathan was at an appointment. everybody at work was so excited to see her even though she slept the entire time. it was good to see everybody and i have to admit the kind of miss it. i will look forward to my one day a week.
we finally required some tylenol this afternoon. we stopped by a store so i could run in and get a couple of things that i needed. jonathan stayed in the car with macey and when i came out a few minutes later she was in his lap screaming. i tried to feed her but she just continued to scream. luckily there was a pharmacy within walking distance so jonathan quickly went and got some tylenol while i continued to try to settle down our screaming child. the tylenol worked quickly once she got it and she fell back to sleep on the way home. so i think that the tylenol will be our saving grace over the next couple of days.
we are all doing well. macey is sleeping a little bit better at night. whenever i go into feed her in the middle of the night, she always greets me with the biggest grin. it makes it worth being awake at 3 o'clock in the morning.

macey is 7 weeks old today!!!

so macey is now 7 weeks old. she is growing so fast that i feel like i blink and she has already grown bigger. she is such a great baby. she is fairly easy tempered. she only cries when she is hungry or she wants to be held. she loves to snuggle which is one of my favorite times with her. she will snuggle right in close and then fall asleep. our newest things that we are doing is cooing and smiling. it no longer only happens when she has gas. these are real smiles when you talk to her.
she is starting to sleep a little bit better through the night although it goes in waves. some nights she sleeps 6 hours without waking up while other nights she wants to eat every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. those nights are the difficult ones. she is now sleeping in her crib which you can imagine how mommy feels about that. i must have checked on her 10 times the first night but she has done fine.
jonathan and i are enjoying watching her grow and we are loving being parents. we are getting used to the lack of sleep and are enjoying every moment with our precious baby girl. hope you enjoy some of the new pictures.

I decided that it might be beneficial to our families if we started a blog so that people could stay updated with what is going on with macey. i don't know how great i will be at updating it but i will honestly try to stay on top of it.
Macey Jane Davis was born on june 27, 2008 at 9:20 pm. I ended up having to have a c-section after 24 hours of labor but she was well worth it. she was 8 lbs. 8 ozs and 21 inches long. She is healthy and growing big and strong.
My parents were here when macey was born and my mother stayed for 3 weeks to help me out. Jonathan's parents came when she was 1 1/2 weeks old and they also got to stay for a week. So we had lots of family visiting which made it nice for me because i didn't have to cook one meal in 3 weeks. Needless to say i got a little bit spoiled.
Macey is now almost 6 weeks old. She is cooing a lot and starting to smile but still not on a regular basis. She is a lot more awake and loves to look at fans and lights. We are enjoying each little change that she is making.
