Pig Races

A few weeks back, we went to Honeysuckle Hills and enjoyed some fall fun. We took lots of pictures (which I will post more later) but Macey and Jake especially liked the pigs. And only in the south do you see pic races :)
Jake thought it was so fun to let them lick his fingers
Mommy thought it was a little gross
Macey was ready to watch the piglets race!
There they go!
There were so many kids that we didn't get a seat so we made a makeshift one for Macey. Another good use for a diaper bag :)

Jackson's Orchard

On Monday, we went to an orchard up in Bowling Green, Kentucky with some of our friends. We had lots of FALL FUN!
Macey and her friends Ethan and Kylie picking out pumpkins
Trying to get a picture of Jake and I going down the big slide - he didn't want to look!
Jake tried to go down the slide by himself - it proved to be a bad idea. He ended up twisting half way down and went down head first! Yikes!
Macey driving the tractor
Looking at all the fun animals
This is the most tolerant goat on earth - Jake kept pulling his ear and instead of biting him he would just pull his head away and then Jake would do it again. Over and over
Yummy apple cider slush!
Loving the white pumpkin!
I just love what this box said and then having all three kids in there - made me laugh!

Passing Down

Jake is finally old enough to really enjoy playing with matchbox cars. We noticed a couple of days ago that he was driving them all over the floor, walls, sofa, you name it - he was driving his cars on it. So Jon decided it was time to pull out his cars from his childhood. It was really fun to watch him give his cars that he loved as a kid to his son (and he became a kid back in his childhood as he reminisced on which were his favorites). It was fun to watch all three of them play cars together!
Hard to imagine that these cars are around 20 years old - WOW!!!
Jake loved them - plus, there were so many to play with :)
Playing cars together
The old and the new - notice Lightning McQueen :)
Such a boy - loves his cars!

Splash!

Last week we enjoyed a family vacation at the beach. I would no longer call vacations relaxing but we did have lots and lots of fun.
Jake loved the ocean. He would stand out in the waves and laugh everytime they rolled in. It was fun to watch his excitement.
Macey wasn't as much a fan of the ocean water but she did have a fun time in the fountains!
Lounging on the beach
This boy loved the sand too. I think he ate a large portion of it everyday but he had so much fun digging holes! He is definitely a boy ;)

Hopefully, I will have time to post more pictures soon. i only took about 600 :). Till then, this will have to keep you satisfied.

Rough and Tumble!

Jake is our little dare-devil. He is constantly running, climbing, jumping, hitting (balls, that is) and everything else you expect a little boy to do. I guess I just forgot that bumps, bruises, and sometimes stitches come with a child that has no fear. So a couple of weeks ago, Jake had his first stitches put into his bottom lip. Luckily Jon was home and we loaded up the car and spent a couple of hours in the ER. (Actually, I sat in the car with Macey and made Jon do all the dirty work). And finally, at about 10:30 at night, Jon came out to the car with a tired little boy and his first real battle scar.

All healed up and looking pretty good
Jon had to remind me that this most likely will not be our last time in the ER with this boy - I hate to admit that I agree with him :)

A Huge Fiasco!

This year we decided to do swim lessons. At first, I thought it would be great, but I should have known otherwise. My sweet, almost 3 year old at the time, made it my least favorite thing about this summer. But we survived and hopefully next summer will be better.
She seems to be enjoying herself here - this is the first day
She even dipped her nose in the water like she was supposed to - still the first day. Then things started to fall apart. Mind you, we had 2 weeks of swim lessons!
Jake loved them - he did so well!
Macey - not so much. It was a feat just to get her in the water by the last day! This picture was taken after much crying and screaming!
But popsicles after swim lessons makes it all better!

3

Somebody turned 3 on Monday! I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday she was that small, little, snuggly baby. I am so proud of the little person she is becoming. Macey has a passion for life and has the personality that goes with it. She is dramatic, has a zest for life, a little high maintenance, loves everybody, has a huge personality, and is a little over the top on many situations that take place throughout the day but I wouldn't change her for the world. I love this sweet precious child more and more everyday and can't wait to see what treasures and memories the coming years bring up. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Touch a Truck!

about a week ago, my friend liesl called me and told me about a little thing that was going on in the park called "touch a truck". since i am always looking for fun, inexpensive things to do with the kids, this sounded like something fun. so we headed to the park in the scorching heat, and this is what we found.....

we thought daddy might be a little jealous since we actually got to walk inside of the swat vehicle!
jake thought the firetruck was fun
doesn't macey fit right in with her "sparkle" shoes
she loved sitting in the firetruck and pretending like she was driving. she even flirted with the firemen a little bit - she is going to keep my hands full.

Elephants, Giraffes, and Flamingo's, Oh My!!!

Yesterday we took a quick trip to the zoo. We had not been in awhile and when my friend's from work gave me a call and invited us, we jumped at the chance to get out of the house and enjoy some nature and animals. We went early enough in the morning so it wasn't too hot although I do have some tan lines I noticed when I got home. The best part about the zoo is going with friends and being able to have some adult interaction but also being able to watch your babes have fun together. It doesn't get much better.
Jake and Kayleigh having a little snack break. (i love how jake chills with his foot up when he is riding in the stroller - cracks me up)
Macey is trying to be a flamingo in this picture!
Macey and Avery rode the train all by themselves - makes me realize how fast they are growing up.
Trying to share the stroller - it lasted for about 5 seconds, just long enough to get a picture
Macey, with her binoculars, ready to check out the animals
We loved seeing the baby giraffe!
We thought the elephant might go for a swim - but he never actually put his foot or trunk in the water.
This is how we roll!
Jake liked the zoo too
Riding the carousel - Macey and Avery loved it (so did Jennifer :)
